Engaging with refugee communities has exposed me to a world of resilience, resourcefulness, and the power of unity.

Despite facing unimaginable hardships, I've witnessed firsthand how our refugees maintain their dignity, their unbroken spirits, and their determination to create a better future for themselves and their children. In my experience with one-on-one phone calls with one refugee in particular, I've noticed how resilient and strong they are. They experience such difficult situations; yet face their problems head-on.

Our English Language Learning program has helped their journeys tremendously, and our faculty team (adults and youth together) couldn't be better coordinated for the task. Our own differences in backgrounds and ages create a diversified team as varied and eager to work together as our students'!

As I've extended a helping hand to these displaced individuals, I've discovered the true essence of humanity and the power of compassion, understanding, and acceptance. Interacting with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds has enriched my life immeasurably, fostering a deeper appreciation for the uniqueness - and value - of every individual.
